NET Release Guide Ver 4.0

----- Please create an EXCLUSIVE album for Smell the Stench. We do not appreciate artists who release the same album on 20 different net labels. That is not our purpose, we provide everything free, and we are trying to help you out, so please help us out, stay original! ------ If you don't help us, we wont help you.

Please, use your own freedoms to create anything you want. There are no limits. None of this is strictly required. My only recommendations are that we release the highest quality digitized sounds and images. As far as content, you can make it as hi-fi or as shitty as you want to.

( EXCEPT FOR HOMOPHOBIC AND RELIGIOUS THEMES, WE DO NOT WANT THOSE!!! )
OTHERWISE, THERE ARE NO LIMITS!

You can make anything you want. You do not have to follow what everyone else has contributed. Releases don't have to be all audio related. Here are some additional ideas for you to consider and submit with your release:

- Over sized / Under sized artwork
- Poster Designs
- Short stories ( text documents )
- Movie clips ( .mpg / .mov )
- Instruction Manuals
- Application programs ( .exe )
- Pictures
- Food recipes
- Schematics
- Whatever......
QUALITY REQUIREMENTS FOR SUBMISSIONS :

I consider what we do as a B.I.Y./P.I.Y. process (Burn It Yourself / Print It Yourself). In doing so, please treat the quality just as well as you would for a professional CD release. We want your best work, not just a shit demo. Please keep in mind, many people do not understand technical process's, they just want to Burn it, and Print it. Please make it easy, by formating artwork to be "PRINT READY", and encoding the highest quality audio (You are representing Smell the Stench, not just yourself).
We want to be able to stand out among the huge amount to net labels around today. We want to offer the best quality in an online release, and inorder to do this we require a high standard of quality form our artists. Please use these rates at a minimum when creating your content. Higher rates are always appreciated.

High Resolution Graphics
- - 300 dpi minimum resolution (thats 300 dots per inch / or 150 dots per cm)
- - TIFF or JPEG formats accepted

High Quality Sound Encoding
- - 320 kbps minimum MP3 encoding rate.
- - .WAV files also encouraged (44.1 khz - 16 bit )
PROVIDE YOUR INFORMATION :

Please include this information with your release when you write :

- What country you are from.
- A breif description of your sounds.
- A web address / web site ( if you have one ).
TYPICAL INFORMATION YOU NEED TO HAVE IF YOU MAKE YOUR OWN ARTWORK :

- - Please include the Smell The Stench Logo somewhere on the artwork.
------------ "right click" the logo at the top of the page
------------ "save picture as"
- - Under, above, or around the Smell The Stench logo, please include our web address ( www.smellthestench.net ) and the email ( smellthestench1 {AT} yahoo.com.au )
- - Please leave some space for me to add a catalogue number to your release (ex = sts-net ### ).
- - If you use a font type, please let me know which font you used. Or email me the font file. I need this in order to add the catalogue number to your release without totaly fucking up the way it looks.
- - If for some reason you can not do this, or forget, that is not a problem. I can add these to the artwork for you. But its not my fault if you think it looks funny or awful.
NOT A VISUAL ARTIST? I CAN MAKE SOME ARTWORK FOR YOU :

** Keep in mind this can greatly delay the timming of a release, due to the amount of free time I have between working and making my own artworks. **

If you do not, or can not make your own cover artwork, I can make some for you. I use a standard 2 panal, one sided, CD (slim) insert template. If you want a different size, let me know. Anything is possible.

Please include this info for me to work with:
- - A logo if you have one.
- - All titles, contacts, and other info you want in it.
- - A description of how you would like it to look/feel. ( eg. colors, textures, imagery, etc... )
THINGS TO CONSIDER WHEN SENDING YOUR STUFF :

- You can email your cover art to me. MP3 files depend on the file size, due to account limitations.
- You can upload onto your own server or storage space, just send me the link address.
- If you use FTP, I can give you access to our server to upload your files too, please ask first.
- If you use a file transfer service, please try Mediafire.com or Evilshare.com to send your large files. These have been working the best so far, though they have limits.
DO NOT USE: yousendit, savefile, sendspace, megaupload. They will not work for me.
If you know of a good online transfer service without obscene limits or required applications, please let me know.
